What is Control Dopamine?
Control Dopamine is an iOS app that flips the screen-time formula: instead of punishing you for scrolling, it rewards you for doing things that matter. Reading, walking, meditating, journaling — each offline action earns minutes of guilt-free phone time, tracked in a 28-day visual heatmap with a mascot that tells the truth about your habits.
Built by a solo developer in France, Control Dopamine launches on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 in 13 languages. Where most digital-wellbeing tools rely on shame, blockers, and lock screens, Control Dopamine takes a positive-reinforcement approach grounded in dopamine-economy research: every minute you invest in a high-quality activity becomes a minute of unrestricted screen time you can spend without guilt. Privacy is non-negotiable — there are no analytics cookies, no third-party tracking, and no cloud sync. Everything lives on the device.

Attribute to Berkay Turk, founder of Control Dopamine.
“Most screen-time apps shame you for scrolling. We wanted one that quietly rewards the offline life.
“Privacy isn’t a feature — it’s a starting condition. Nothing leaves the device, ever.
“The mascot is not there to congratulate you. It’s there to tell you the truth about your habits.

Berkay Turk

Berkay Turk is a solo developer based in France and the founder of BRT Apps. He built Control Dopamine after realizing he was losing 3 to 4 hours a day to mindless scrolling — every morning gap, every quiet moment, every minute before sleep. The tipping point came on a single morning when he watched 2 hours 30 minutes disappear into a feed before noon.
He believes the fix isn't deletion. Modern life still requires the phone. The fix is inversion: don't fight the device, earn the time you spend on it. Control Dopamine turns screen time into a currency you pay for with real-world activity. It is his first published iOS app — built solo, native SwiftUI, on-device, 13 languages on launch.
